Is APS compatible with windows Vista?
I upgraded to the full version but I still get the demo when I double click the APS icon. One cause of this error is the
language version of the operating system. Most probabye, the demo was installed in a directory with a foreign spelling and the upgrade in another, as the default directory for the upgrade is c:\Program Files\APS.
There are at least two ways of correcting this problem::
Option A: Use the Start | Find command from your desktop Start menu and locate all aps.exe files. One is for the demo and the other for the upgrade.
Replace the demo aps.exe with the upgrade aps.exe
Option B: Log in, download the upgrade and run it. When asked by the installer program to specify the Destination Directory, you must specify the directory of the
demo or your current version (normally C:\Program files\APS). If you are not sure in which directory APS was installed, click Browse and select the appropriate directory, up to and including the subdirectory \APS (for
example: D:\Programs\APS). back to top
When I open a workspace, its left side it truncated and I cannot scroll it to the right.
This problem has been encountered in the case of Dell desktops or laptops. It seems to correct itself by the following procedure:
1. From your Control Panel options, set the Display font (Advanced settings) to small and if you can change it, to Arial. 2. Set your display resolution to 1024 x 768
If the above will not do it, then try in addition the following:
1. Go to Run|Setting}Control Panel and then double click on Display.
2. Click "Appearance" and select "Windows Standard" for Scheme and Desktop for "Item". Then click Apply. 3. Click Effects and mark boxes 1,2 and 4 only.
4. Click settings and check whether your default monitor is selected. If not, select that. back to topHow to unregister APS from one PC and move it to another?
In order to unregister APS from your PC, please click on Start of your desktop and then select Run. Then type in: APS UNREGISTER
The instructions on your screen must be followed to record the code for the uninstalled password (key) and then e-mail it to our
sales department together wiht your purchase code, user name and date of purchase.
You may then remove APS from the old PC using the windows
uninstaller. Before doing that you may want to save all files in C:\Program Files\Results directory and copy them in the corresponding directory where APS is installed in the new PC.
As soon as we receive the
uninstall code, a new password for the new PC will be issued based on the new user code provided. The same procedure should be followed before a major hardware or software upgrade, such as an OS change.
back to topHow do I capture and save a screenshot of my Windows desktop? If you do not have a program installed that can capture and save screnshots, then you can use Windows Paint from the Accessories folder of a Windows PC as follows:

is not yet fully supported. APS can run under Vista after making the appropriate compatibility selections. Go to the program main installation directory (default directory is: C:\Program files\APS ) and then right click
the file aps.exe. Select Properties and then Compatibility. Check the box to "Run the program in compatibility mode for" and select Windows XP (Service Pack 2). Then, check the box labeled Privilege
level to "Run the program as an administrator". Click Apply and then OK to apply compatibility selections. APS uses a help file system (Windows Help) that may not be supported by certain Vista
installations. If you have problems viewing the APS help file in your system you must download an update from Microsoft. Click here to download.back to top |
